The influx of foreign artists indeed has become significant and noticeable as they help keep the Philippine concert scene alive.

International superstars like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Jennifer Lopez, had already set foot in what is being considered as one of the best places to hold a concert in: Manila.
In just the first half of 2013, a number of foreign artists had given their Filipino fans a treat worth-spending-for. These are some of those awesome artists who definitely witnessed how crazy the Filipino crowd can be, seeing their favorites perform live:

KPop fans surely started their year with a blast, thanks to Korean groups Girls’ Generation, Infinite, EXO, U-Kiss, Tasty, and Tahiti, who held a concert last January 19 at the Mall Of Asia Open Grounds as part of their Dream KPop Fantasy concert.

The Pinoy-blooded American Idol Season 11 1st runner-up Jessica Sanchez, together with fellow AI contestant Colton Dixon, did a Valentine show in February 14 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The two, however, were not first-timers in Manila, for last September 21, 2012,they also performed in a one-night concert at the said venue, but that time, along with their AI batchmates.

Another non-first-timer, American band Paramore returned to Manila after their successful Para Thrilla in Manila back in 2010. This year Paramore once again rocked the MOA arena for their concert dubbed as Para Thrilla in Manila Part II in February 15.

The following day, it was Korean rapper Psy’s turn to treat his fans into singing and dancing along with him live. The Gangnam Style singer shared the stage with the Philippines’ comedy concert queen Aiai de Las Alas; and comedy duo Jose and Wally.

Irish band The Script also performed its hits live to the Filipino fans last March 31 at Araneta.

History has been made last May8 as the Philippines got rocked by probably the greatest American rock band, Aerosmith. It was their first Southeast Asia show and was part of their Global Warming World Tour.

In his fourth visit to Manila, and hopefully not the last, Jason Mraz promoted his current album Love Is A Four Letter Word and performed at Araneta in May 14.

The first half ended, another began and the list goes on…

Jung Yong Hwa, Lee Jong Hyun, and the rest of CN Blue concluded their Blue Moon World Tour with a concert in Manila in June 15 at Araneta as well.

The Call Me Maybe singer proved that she is no one-hit-wonder as Canadian artist Carly Rae Jepsen performed her other chart-topping hits in August 7 at Araneta.

The next day’s event at the said venue made Fall Out Boys fans say “thanks for the memories” once again for giving them another rocking concert as part of the band’s Save Rock and Roll Tour. FOB first set foot in Manila, one of the stops for their Folie a Deux concert, last February 13, 2009.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming concerts:

A band that first performed in Manila in 2004, Grammy-winning Linkin Park will be holding a concert in August 13 at the MOA arena as part of its Living Things World Tour.

These next artists will heat up the usually cold “ber” months with concerts their fans would not want to miss.

Mr. Worldwide Pitbull will return to Manila for a show that will make his fans scream “don’t stop the party” during it. It will be held in September 4 at MOA.

Attention “Crazy Kids!” Get ready for a party like no other, to be brought by Kesha for her Warrior Tour stop in Manila in October 24 at Araneta.

Be serenaded by One Republic as they sing their songs live at Araneta in November 6, followed by a concert by alternative pop rock group Matchbox Twenty in November 8 at the MOA arena.
