The University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers defeats the National University Bulldogs, the first seeding team in the UAAP Season 76 Men's Basketball Tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena with the final score, 69-76, earlier.

The best player of the game was Kevin Ferrer, giving off a 17-point contribution.

UST's Coach Pido Jarencio could not help but cry during the last 12 seconds of the final quarter.

Derrick Rose will be participating in various activities in Manila as the last stop of his world tour. He arrives in the afternoon of September 14 and will make his way to the Marriott Hotel.

The reign of the University of the Philippines in the UAAP Cheerdance Competition has been punctuated by the National University as the latter emerged as this year’s champion in the said event held at the Mall of Asia Arena that was packed with a crowd of more than 20,000.

A first-timer in bringing home the crown and last year’s third placer, the NU Pep Squad won the judges over with a flawless Arabian-inspired performance that prevented the UP Pep Squad from making a “four-peat.”

Eight schools will battle out not just for their respective alma mater’s pride but also to show their breathtaking dance routines as the UAAP Season 76 Cheerdance competitions kicks off on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“This is going to be a close fight. Everybody wants to outperform one another,” said Jacqueline Alota, head coach of the FEU Tamaraws Pep Squad that brought home the first runner-up trophy last year.

Gilas-Pilipinas kicked an upset-minded Hong Kong, 67-55, to officially clinch the spot in group E in the 27th FIBA Asia men’s championships quest at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Gilas-Pilipinas national basketball team overcame a bad shooting night and repulsed Saudi Arabia, 78-66, at the start of its FIBA-Asia Championship quest Thursday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The game didn't start out good for Gilas-Pilipinas, but in the end, they nailed it done.

Gilas started out the game hot with an 8-0 spurt, until Almuwallad got KSA on the board with a three-pointer.

The University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers bow down to last year’s UAAP Season 75 five-peat champions the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles, 61-57, in their head-to-head match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum earlier.

Still without Captain Jeric Teng, the UST Growling Tigers struggled as they battled against the ADMU Blue Eagles.

The Eagles took control of the entire game without giving the Tigers a chance to take on the lead, but at 21.3 seconds left on the last quarter, the UST Tigers Co-captain Clark Bautista drained a triple to cut the lead to two at 59-57.

their current 2-0 win-loss standing in this year’s UAAP Season 76.

The UST Tigers already bagged two wins. One against the De La Salle 
Green Archers (UST-63, DLSU-58) during the opening of the UAAP Season 76, last June 29, 2013, and the other one against the Adamson Soaring Falcons (UST-67, AdU-62) last Saturday, July 6, 2013.
