July 12, Friday - Philippine Daily Inquirer exposed the alleged multi-billion pork barrel scam identifying Janet Lim Napoles as the mastermind as Whistleblower Benhur Luy finally spoke. The scam also involves at least five senators and 23 congressmen in the siphoning of millions of pesos through their PDAF and putting them into ghost projects.

July 16, Tuesday - Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales created a 6-person team of investigators to look into the ghost projects that were allegedly funded by pork barrel funds. They were to conduct parallel investigations with the National Bureau of Investigation.

August 14, Saturday - Makati Regional Trial Court branched150 orders the arrest of Janet Lim Napoles and her brother Reynald "Jojo" Lim.

August 16, Monday - Napoles' lawyers filed an application for temporary restraining order to the Court of Appeals asking to stop the implementation of the arrest warrant against the Napoleses. In the same day, COA ordered the Napoleses' bank accounts to be frozen for six months.
