On the 14th anniversary of I-witness, host Sandra Aguinaldo returned to her alma mater University of Santo Tomas and shared her award-winning documentaries, September 9.

Aguinaldo, an AB Journalism graduate batch ‘93, revisited UST for GMA Documentary program I-witness' anniversary celebration titled “Homecoming” at Thomas Aquinas Research Center (TARC) Auditorium.

The highlight of the event was the free screening of Aguinaldo’s documentaries “Pasan-Pasan and “Kalam” which were both highly-acclaimed and winners of prestigious awards.

“Pasan-pasan,” winner of 2011 Lasallian Scholarum Award, tells the story of a brother’s unconditional love to his physically challenged sibling.

“Kalam,” on the other hand, is Aguinaldo’s story as she gets to experience hunger for three days with one of the poorest families in Western Samar.

Aguinaldo recounted her student days at UST and later shared her experience in making stories and in-depth documentaries.

An open forum was conducted which gave the students a chance to raise their questions to Aguinaldo.
